The goal of this magazine is to cover the sighthound performance events, the dogs that make our hearts beat faster by the beauty in their athleticism, and the owners that persevered to further the sport and breeds we know today, and to maintain the integrity of the bloodlines. We invite people to submit articles, images, results and any ideas that our readership may find informative and interesting. We will endeavor to maintain the high standards established in our premiere volume.
Cover Nominations:
We will NOT sell the front cover. A dog must earn its place there. We accept nominations for the cover at editorial@performancesighthoundjournal.com. Include the dog's registered name, titles, owner, breeder and nominating person. PSJ does not recognize CWA titles.
Living Legends:
PSJ has initiated a feature highlighting some of the outstanding people in the Sighthound world. The first issue featured Tony Lewis of the legendary Lyth Kennel. The second issue had Yvonne McGehee and her lovely Borzoi. The third issue presented the Lord of Lure Coursing, Les Pekarski. The fourth issue featured an in depth interview with Don Papin of Windyglens Kennel. They are people everyone has heard of, but do you really know how they got where they are? When you read the PSJ, you get closer to these people.
Other regular features:
Meet our subscribers, Off the Sliplead (humor), rare and aboriginal sighthound breeds and Dan Gauss' untitled photo series.
The first issue of the year includes a Top Ten supplement, giving the final results for the year in most of the sighthound events including AKC. If you own sighthounds and you believe they should do what they were created to do (or as close as we can get in today's world) then, you should subscribe to the PSJ!
